What does a good toddler Diet looks like.
Dairy (3 portions per day)
Milk and dairy are an important part of a child’s diet. They are a good source of energy and protein, and also contain a wide range of vitamins and minerals. These can include cows milk, toddler milk cheese and yoghurt.
Fruit and vegetables (5 portions per day)
The vitamins, minerals and fibre in fruit and vegetables are an essential part of a healthy diet. It’s a good idea to introduce different ones from an early age. Toddlers should be offered fruit and vegetables at each meal – and some snacks.
Meat, fish & vegetarian alternatives ( 2 or 3 portions per day)
Protein is important for your toddlers growth and development. Meat, Fish, eggs and vegetarian alternatives are a good source of protein but they also contain other nutrients. Toddlers need one or two portions of protein each day and vegetarians need an extra one.
Starch & Carbohydrates ( 5 portions per day)
